The Poiqu/ Bhote Koshi/ SunKoshi is a trans-boundary river that originates in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China, and flows across the high mountain region into Nepal and India. In Nepalese, the word “Sun” means gold or golden, and “Koshi” means river; the SunKoshi River is known as the Golden River in the local language.
Karmath Subedi has been working in river conservation for the last ten years. He worked as a program coordinator for Nepal River Conservation Trust from 2007 to 2012 and gained wide experience in working with people in the field. Currently Karmath is working in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Alliance International, a Netherlands-funded project in Nepal, and is a board member of Nepal River Conservation Trust.
