The SetiGandaki, meaning ‘white’, is an important river system in west Nepal. It originates from the Machhapuchhare and Annapurna peaks of theHimalaya in the north, and flows south through the famous Pokhara valley. It is regarded as an important part of the local culture, ceremonies, and life itself. However, it is currently threaten by hydropower dam projects, increasing population, and lack of management from the government.
