The Poiqu/ Bhote Koshi/ SunKoshi is a trans-boundary river that originates in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China, and flows across the high mountain region into Nepal and India. In Nepalese, the word “Sun” means gold or golden, and “Koshi” means river; the SunKoshi River is known as the Golden River in the local language.
